Bibles and Brews

In early 2008, the Vatican came out with a set of the new seven deadly sins.

The Bible and Brews Series for 2009-2010 will focus of this component of socially relatable sins and responsibilities.

While the dates are still tentative the topics for series will focus on: Genetic Manipulation, Accumulating Excessive Wealth, Environmental Pollution; Inflicting Poverty, Drug Trafficking and Consumption, Morally Debatable Experiments, and Violation of Fundamental Human Rights

Taste and See Prayer Series

“What has prayer done for you lately?”
Returns Lenten Season 2010

This Lenten Season, University Ministry is giving students the opportunity to taste different prayer styles.

Each night of the week will offer the opportunity to pray in a style that is comfortable for you. For those of you who appeal to a certain anonymity in prayer, to those of who thrive in communal worship, there will be something for everyone.

Prayer sessions will take place at 7 p.m. in the Inter-Faith Prayer Room (located on the 4th Floor of Treadaway, above Guadalupe chapel).

Tentative Schedule:
  • Monday: Centering Prayer (Meditative and Silent)
  • Tuesday: Taize Prayer (Communal and Song Oriented)
  • Wednesday: Lectio Divnina (Scripture-based, Meditative and Optional Reflection)
  • Thursday: See Bibles and Brews (Communal and Theological)
  • Friday: Imaginative Prayer (Creative, Meditative, Optional Reflection)
