Laredo, Texas — Hurt by an early goal and a late one, the St. Mary’s University men’s soccer team fell to Texas A&M International University 2-0 on Friday night.

A&M International’s Leonardo Ramos scored in the fourth minute, while Kristian Quintana sealed the victory with another score on a bicycle kick from a pass on a free kick in the 86th minute.

St. Mary’s goalkeeper David Schmelzer (Fr., Castroville, Texas) made his first appearance of the season, making five stops and going the distance in the net.

St. Mary’s (2-7, 1-4) was outshot 16-11.

The Rattlers are back on the road next Friday, when they will travel to take on West Texas A&M university in Canyon, Texas.
