St. Mary’s University School of Law Dean Stephen M. Sheppard, J.S.D., will give his inaugural address on Wednesday as the first recipient of the Charles E. Cantú Distinguished Professorship of Law, during which he will share his vision for the School of Law.

The address will take place at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Courtroom of the Law Classrooms Building. Members of the media may enter the campus through the University’s NW 36th Street Gate and park in Lot D.

Sheppard will speak about the future of law schools in the United States and the role of St. Mary’s University within the framework of legal education. He will present strategic School of Law initiatives, which will emphasize individual achievement, graduate education, interdisciplinary work, international service, professionalism, justice and employability.

A reception will follow in the Law Alumni Room of the Sarita Kenedy East Law Library.
