St. Mary’s University’s Greehey Network of International Business Schools Worldwide Case Study Team traveled to London in March as one of 16 collegiate squads that advanced to the Worldwide Case Competition finals.

The highlight of the competition for the  squad was a victory over the winningest team in competition history, Bishop’s University, which has won six championships.

Jeff Johnson, Ph.D., director of the Center for Global Business Studies, leads the team of four undergraduate students: Kelsey Davis, Stefano Cabello, Ernesto Negrete and Ginnette Garcia.

The finals were held March 2-March 7, 2014, at London Southbank University in England. Teams are challenged to come up with the best ideas and solutions for strategic business problems, according to the NIBS website. The teams are locked in a room with no mobile devices. For every case, the teams have to present and defend their strategic plan for a jury of professional and academic experts.

This is the first time the St. Mary’s Bill Greehey School of Business has participated in the event in its 19-year history.
