The Texas Festivals and Events Association recently honored Fiesta Oyster Bake, organized by the St. Mary’s University Alumni Association, with three awards at its annual conference:

  • Best event to benefit a charity
  • Best promotional poster
  • Best event video

Fiesta Oyster Bake is categorized among events with revenues of more than $750,000. About 70,000 people attended Fiesta Oyster Bake 2013, made possible because of the efforts of 7,000 volunteers.

Oyster Bake, a two-day festival held annually during San Antonio’s Fiesta Week, dates to 1916. Its purpose is to raise funds for St. Mary’s University student scholarships and University and alumni programs. Fiesta Oyster Bake provides a great economic boost to St. Mary’s University and the San Antonio community.

The dates for Fiesta Oyster Bake 2014 are Friday and Saturday, April 11-12.
