San Antonio – St. Mary’s midfielder Zach Strater has been selected to the CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District team.

As the only Rattler represented among the members of the District 6 Division-II winners, Strater (So., Carrollton, Texas) is also the second Rattler in the program’s history to be recognized academically, joining Joseph Diaz’s 2010 selection.

On point on the field, playing in every game since his first start his freshman year, Strater’s 3.53 grade-point average proves he is also reliable off the field. Undeclared in his academic major, Strater is excelling just as he has on the green for St. Mary’s, seeing his first collegiate goal earlier this season. His one goal on the season comes along with his 20 shots, with 11 being shot on goal for a .550 on-goal percentage.

The CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District selection is Strater’s first honor as a St. Mary’s soccer player, fueling what figures to be just the start of a fine Rattler career.
