San Antonio – Wes Skidmore couldn’t help but notice the clear skies that dotted the city as the final results started to roll in at the St. Mary’s Lady Rattler Roundup on Tuesday.

Unfortunately for the St. Mary’s Women’s Golf Head Coach, the ideal golfing weather didn’t necessarily bring ideal golfing results for the field.

With scores higher across the board for all the teams in the competition, the Lady Rattlers were not immune, dropping slightly on Day 2 of the tournament to finish in sixth place.

Playing with a heavy heart after losing her grandmother last Friday, freshman Bailey Furgeson (Newcastle, Calif.) led the Lady Rattlers with a 14th-place finish after firing an 85 Tuesday for a two-round score of 163.

Alejandra Cantu (Sr., Mission, Texas) led the Lady Rattlers with an 84 in the final round, finishing in a tie for 25th place individually.

Tarleton State’s Jessica Pickwick won the tournament at 150, while St. Edward’s won the team title with a score of 618. The Lady Rattlers finished with 678 points.

Adela E. Rodriguez (Jr., Monterrey, Mexico) finished at 177 after shooting 92 in the final round, while Julia Dickens (Jr., Fredericksburg, Texas) shot an 89 on the final day for a two-day score of 180. Daryn Petermann followed Monday’s 82 with a 98 to score 180.
