LAREDO, Texas – Texas A&M International’s aggressive offensive attack got the best of the St. Mary’s men’s soccer team Wednesday, downing the Rattlers 5-0 in Heartland Conference competition.

Diego Manzano-Cano, one of five Dustdevils to find the back of the net, led the way with one goal and two assists, while Eduardo Gonzalez picked up two more assists to help TAMIU improve to 10-4-4 on the season.

St. Mary’s (5-10-1) fell to 4-5-1 in Heartland Conference competition on a night in which it was outshout 21-7. Anthony Bustos (Sr., Helotes, Texas) led the Rattlers with four shots, but none of the Rattlers were able to find the back of the net against keeper Jesus Cisneros.

Rattlers goalie Patrick Kasperitis (Jr., Corpus Christi, Texas) yielded five shots but made six saves to prevent further damage.

St. Mary’s trailed 2-0 at the half before surrendering a trio of goals in the second half.

The Rattlers will close out the season at Incarnate Word on Nov. 4 in San Antonio.
