AUSTIN, Texas – Desired redemption over rival St. Edward’s instead had St. Mary’s still seeking revenge as the Rattlers fell to the Hilltoppers by three for the second time this season.

The Hilltoppers (10-3-2, 6-1-1 in conference) charged on their home field to overtake the Rattlers (4-9-1, 3-4-1 in conference) in their second shutout on the season, 3-0.

St. Mary’s totaled three shots for the game to the Hilltoppers’ 11, with looks from Anthony Bustos (Sr., Helotes, Texas), Aaron Stares (Sr., Swindon, England) and Alexis Santamaria (Fr., San Antonio).

As the No. 1-ranked team in the Heartland Conference, St. Edward’s nearly brought keeper Patrick Kasperitis (RS-Jr., Corpus Christi, Texas) in double-digits as he tallied eight saves for the game with three goals allowed.

The Hilltoppers’ strikes came throughout the contest as they netted their first goal minutes before halftime and their second and third at the 54th and 82nd minute mark, respectively.

The Rattlers have three more games left in their regular season, two of which come against conference contenders. Their final game is against cross-town rival Incarnate Word.

St. Mary’s will first take on Dallas Baptist University in Dallas at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
