San Antonio – For the second time this season, Rattler Marcin Marczewski has been honored as the Heartland Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Marczewski earned his stripe by charging to go undefeated in every match he played last week. The senior from Warsaw, Poland picked up singles victories against Southeastern Oklahoma State and Texas-Permian Basin, while also winning both doubles matches. Against UTPB, he dominated both competitions, winning 6-1, 6-0 in singles and 8-2 in doubles.

The two-time Heartland Conference Player of the Week is swinging at a .500 win-loss percentage with five wins and five losses. Marczewski leads the conference in doubles’ wins along with teammate Andrej Klipa (Jr., Belgrade, Serbia) with a 2-0 record.

With this season as his last, the Rattlers will be sure to miss his prowess on the court that has earned him conference recognition twice – the only Heartland Conference player to do so.

Marczewski’s honor this week is the third Heartland Conference Player of the Week award to be bestowed upon a Rattler this season.
