San Antonio – For the first time in two seasons, St. Mary’s women’s golf has claimed a Heartland Conference Player of the Week in Camille Furgeson.

The senior from Newcastle, Calif., received her first career Player of the Week Award due to her work in the Rattlers’ most recent tournament, the Dennis Rose Invitational held in Hawaii.

Furgeson led the Rattlers with a 15th-place overall finish, shooting a team-best 245 for the tournament’s three rounds that earned her conference recognition.

The week in Hawaii wasn’t the first time Furgeson has led the Rattlers, as the senior has consistently led St. Mary’s throughout the fall season, including her first-place finish in the Schreiner Women´s Fall Classic earlier this month.

Furgeson’s Player of the Week Award presents a nice seal to end of the Rattlers’ fall season, which will resume again in the spring.
