ROUND ROCK, Texas – Cami Furgeson came out firing an 82 on Monday, helping position the St. Mary’s women’s golf team in fifth place following one round of the Heartland Conference Tournament at the Teravista Golf Club.
Furgeson’s first-round total left her in a tie for 15th place individually entering Tuesday’s final round, where the Lady Rattlers will start 43 shots off the lead after carding a 350 in Round 1.
Alejandra Cantu (Jr., Mission, Texas) also started off on fire, shooting 83 to place 17th. Julia Dickens (So., Fredericksburg, Texas) shot 89, while Erika Patterson (Jr., San Antonio) carded a 96. Sophomore Megan Garza, a native of Victoria, Texas, registered a 104.
Dallas Baptist leads the tournament at 307, while Newman’s Linzi Allan topped the individual standings at 74.
