DALLAS – The St. Mary’s men’s golf team sits in eighth place after the first day of the DBU Patriot Invitational.
Led by Jeff Rein’s 2-under-par 138 on Day 1, St. Mary’s shot 585 over two rounds at the Golf Club of Dallas on Monday.
Rein (Sr., San Antonio) shot a scorching-hot 65 in the first round, helping position him in sixth place individually entering Tuesday’s third and final round.
Abilene Christian leads the event at 559, while ACU’s Alex Carpenter tops the individual standings at 133.
Sam Jernigan (Jr., San Antonio) had the second-best day for St. Mary’s, carding a 149.
