SAN ANGELO – Bouncing back from consecutive losses, Mallory Moeller led the Lady Rattlers with 15 points to fuel a 60-52 victory against Angelo State on Monday.

Kristen Williams added 10 points while Liz Boyd contributed nine, helping St. Mary’s dust off a two-game skid at the Junell Center.

St. Mary’s trailed 18-8 10 minutes into the game, but a 15-0 run over the next five minutes turned the tide in the Rattlers’ favor.

Though the lead changed hands four times early in the second half after St. Mary’s took a 25-24 advantage into the break, the Rattlers never looked back following a Boyd jumper with 11:15 left in the game that put them ahead 37-36.

Williams (Sr., Kansas City, Mo.) recorded five steals, leading a resurgent defensive effort that forced 20 turnovers.

St. Mary’s shot just 42 percent from the floor but went 16 for 18 at the free-throw line. Amber Sophus (Jr., Houston) went 2 for 3 from 3-point range.
