AUSTIN, Texas – Kevin Kotzur might have started a new streak.

Days after the St. Mary’s University star post saw his 40-game streak of scoring double digits end, Kotzur was one of four Rattlers to produce double-digit points in a pivotal 70-58 victory over rival St. Edward’s University.

Kotzur scored 16 and added eight rebounds to help the Rattlers (13-8, 6-2) claim the “Battle of the Saints” victory.

Jeff Campbell (Jr., Allen, Texas) scored a team-high 17 points, while D.J. Castro (So., El Paso, Texas) added 15 off the bench.

The bounce-back victory helped the Rattlers keep pace in the loss column with Texas A&M International atop the Heartland Conference standings.

St. Mary’s nearly led throughout, trailing only twice by a single point. The Rattlers led 35-31 at halftime but poured it on in the second half to rout the Hilltoppers on their home court.
