San Antonio – St. Mary’s softball slugger Jared Gonzalez racked up another award Friday, being fittingly named to the Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division II All-Region Team.
Gonzalez, a sophomore first baseman from Converse Judson High School, was named to the South Central Second-Team. It marks yet another in a long line of awards bestowed upon Gonzalez this postseason. The Heartland Conference Co-Newcomer of the Year was also named to the Daktronics All-Region Team earlier this week.
Gonzalez led St. Mary’s (36–21) in batting average, home runs, RBIs and doubles. She hit .371 with 47 RBIs, seven home runs and 15 doubles on the season. She was also named to the All–Heartland Conference Tournament Team.
