GOODYEAR, Ariz. – St. Mary’s junior women’s golfer Alejandra Cantu is tied for 20th place after one round of the Grand Canyon University Women’s Invitational.

Cantu, a native of Mission, Texas, carded a 78 to help position the Lady Rattlers in 17th place Tuesday.

The final round will be held Wednesday.

Northeastern State’s Kelsay Kirkpatrick leads the tournament after shooting 72, while CSU-Monterey Bay leads the team standings at 302.

Helped by Cami Furgeson’s (So., Newcastle, Calif.) 88, St. Mary’s wrapped up the first round at 351.

Erika Patterson (Jr., San Antonio) shot 91, while Julia Dickens (So., Fredericksburg, Texas) shot 94.
