Emily Brittain, the St. Mary’s ace who has won her last seven games of record, was named the Heartland Conference Pitcher of the Week for the third straight time on Monday.
Brittain, a freshman from Corpus Christi, Texas, went 3-0 last week with a complete-game victory over No. 6 West Texas A&M. She totaled 14 strikeouts with a 0.89 ERA while walking just two batters for the week. Against West Texas A&M, she struck out five and didn’t give up an earned run.
She is 13-5 on the season with 79 strikeouts and a 1.69 ERA over 99.1 innings.
