AMARILLO, Texas – The Becker brothers clearly enjoy playing alongside each other at St. Mary’s.

Brothers Kyle and Chris Becker paced the Rattlers’ men’s golf team through the first two rounds of the West Texas A&M Ryan Palmer Foundation Invite on Monday, leading St. Mary’s to sixth place entering Tuesday’s third and final round.

Kyle, a freshman from San Antonio, led St. Mary’s with a 4-over-par 146, while Chris, a senior from San Antonio, was just a shot behind at 147. Kyle Becker is tied for 10th place, while Chris Becker is tied for 12th.

St. Mary’s shot 597 as a team, 27 shots behind tournament-leading Abilene Christian. ACU’s Corbin Renner leads the individual leaderboard at 139 at the Tascosa Golf Club.

Meanwhile, Sam Jernigan (Sr., San Antonio) is tied for 24th place at 151 and Matthew Van Winkle (Fr., Castroville, Texas) is tied for 28th at 153.

Freshman Marko Lloyd of New Braunfels, Texas shot 158 to enter Tuesday’s competition in 43rd place.
