San Antonio – After netting her first collegiate hat trick last week, Carolina Hernandez dusted off some dance moves that had been shelved since her high-school days.

On Monday, the St. Mary’s University senior women’s soccer player was given reason to bust another move.

Hernandez, a forward from El Paso, Texas, has been named the Heartland Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday evening.

Hernandez totaled four goals last week, helping the Rattlers remain unbeaten over their past five games. Her hat trick against Texas A&M International University marked the first of her career and just the ninth in program history. She followed up that performance with another goal in a 2-1 victory over the University of Texas-Permian Basin.

Freshman Jamey Coronado (San Antonio) also had a hat trick earlier this season.

St. Mary’s (5-4-1, 2-0) is tied with St. Edward’s University atop the conference standings.

The Rattlers return to the field Thursday, when they host Dallas Baptist University at 3 p.m.
