Tahlequah, Okla. – Northeastern State’s run in the thick of the second half was too much for St. Mary’s to overcome, as the Lady Rattlers’ women’s basketball team fell 59-53 on the road.

The Rattlers led by as many as eight points in the second half, but the score was reversed thanks to a 16-2 run Northeastern State posted late in the half.

DeAnna Patterson (Jr., San Antonio) led the Rattlers with 16 points on 4-of-9 shooting from 3-point range, while Mareta Bailey (Sr., Grand Prairie, Texas) added 14 points and Kristen Williams (Kansas City, Mo.) added 12 rebounds.

St. Mary’s hauled in 33 rebounds, matching Northeastern State’s total, but got to the foul stripe just six times.

The Rattlers, playing on the road for the first time this season, dropped to 1-2 on the season. They will play at Southeastern Oklahoma State at 2 p.m. Saturday.
