Kingston, Okla. – Firing a 1-over-par 72 in the final round Tuesday, Jeff Rein led the St. Mary’s University men’s golf team to a second-place finish at the Texoma Championship.

Rein, a senior from San Antonio, carded a three-round score of 220, good enough to tie for sixth place individually. The Rattlers shot 899 as a team, holding off Cameron University by one stroke for second place.

Matt Vela (Sr., San Antonio) finished 10th after shooting 73 in the final round for a three-round score of 223.

Chris Becker (Jr., San Antonio), who paced the Rattlers after one round, shot a 78 and 77 over the final two rounds to tie for 11th place (226).

Sam Jernigan (Jr., San Antonio) shot 231 and Tim Paiz (So., San Antonio) shot 239.

The championship was hosted by Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
