Abilene, Texas – Taryn Munoz tossed her seventh complete game of the season and improved to 7-1 overall, helping St. Mary’s University break a three-game losing streak with an 11-6 win over Henderson State University in softball action on the final day of the CBS Insurance Classic.

Munoz allowed just 3 earned runs on 5 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 6 in the complete game victory. Offensively Christina Rodriguez (Fr., San Antonio) went 3-of-4 with 3 doubles, while Lauren Miller (Jr., Baytown, Texas) was 2-of-5 with 2 doubles and 5 RBI.

With the win the Rattlers are now 12-3 overall this season. Henderson State fell to 5-1 with the loss. St. Mary’s will return to action on Friday, Feb. 26, when they travel to Stephenville, Texas, to face Tarleton State University in a non-conference doubleheader, starting at 1 p.m.
