Durant, Okla. – St. Mary’s women’s basketball team took a little while to get going Saturday.

But once the they did, there was no stopping them.

Taking over the game in the second half, the Lady Rattlers topped Southeastern Oklahoma 64-58 for their first road win of the season.

Nicole James (Jr., Indianapolis) scored a game-high 16 points, while Kristen Williams (Sr., Kansas City, Mo.) pitched in 11 points and 14 boards to help the Rattlers take control after entering the half tied 32-32.

Erasing an eight-point first-half deficit, the Rattlers (2-2) soared to a 19-4 run that stretched both halves, never trailing over the final 20 minutes.

Liz Boyd (So., San Antonio) scored 11, draining 3 of 4 shots from downtown, while Mareta Bailey (Sr., Grand Prairie, Texas) added 10 points.

The Rattlers controlled the boards, outrebounding Southeastern Oklahoma 44-29, while also outshooting their opponent 16-9 at the foul line.

St. Mary’s returns to the court Tuesday night, when it faces Abilene Christian at Bill Greehey Arena. Preseason First-Team All-Heartland Conference pick Mallory Moeller, fresh off helping the volleyball team advance to the South Central Region tournament, is expected to make her season debut in the game.
