San Antonio – St. Mary’s University senior men’s soccer player Joseph Diaz was named to the Daktronics, Inc. South Central Region men’s soccer second team Tuesday.

Diaz, a San Antonio native who graduated from Antonian College Preparatory High School, was one of 13 players selected to the squad.

A captain in his final season with the Rattlers, totaled 19 shots over 17 starts, helping the Rattlers to a 4-13 season.

Diaz, a 5-foot-6 midfielder, also was named to the ESPN Academic All-District team. He is a biology major who has maintained a 3.88 grade-point average.

The Daktronics team was conducted among sports information directors at NCAA Division II institutions from throughout the South Central Region.
