SEGUIN – St. Mary’s University continued its hot play recently, rolling to its third straight win, 6-1, against Texas Lutheran in non-conference men’s tennis action Thursday afternoon at the Texas Lutheran Tennis Courts.
Marcin Marczewski (Gwiazozista, Poland) improved to 6-1 in singles this season with a straight sets, 6-2, 6-1, victory over Cody Fuller at number two singles. Marczewski also teamed with Drew Zemanek (So., La Porte) for an 8-6 victory at number one doubles. The duo is 6-1 this season. Zemanek improved to 3-3 in singles this season with a 6-2, 7-6, victory over Michael Packard at number four singles. Marcos Villarreal (So., Corpus Christi) and Vitas Van Dijk (So., Paramaribo, Suriname) also picked up singles wins for the Rattlers.
With the win the Rattlers have now won three matches in a row and are 3-1 this season, while TLU fell to 0-3. St. Mary’s will return to action on Friday, March 13, when they host Southwestern Oklahoma State at 10 a.m. at the St. Mary’s University Tennis Courts.
