San Antonio – St. Mary’s University used its perfect start to climb up to 13th in the nation in the latest Ping! Baseball Division II Top 25 poll, while they improved to 15th in the latest Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Poll.

The Rattlers (6-0 overall, 4-0 Heartland Conference) moved up four spots in the Ping! Baseball Poll from last week and moved up 13 spots in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Poll. The University of Tampa is ranked number one in the nation in both polls. The University of the Incarnate Word is the only other Heartland Conference team in either poll, ranking 29th in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll.

In six games this season, the Rattlers have outscored their opponents by a combined 69-20 this season. They defeated Texas A&M University-Kingsville in a non-conference game on Tuesday, 17-7. The Rattlers will hit the road to play a four-game Heartland Conference series at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin on Friday and Saturday in Odessa. Start time for both days is noon.
