San Antonio – Grant Harrelson smacked a two-out, grand slam homerun in the top of the tenth inning to help 22nd-ranked St. Mary’s University end the season on a high note with a 13-9 victory over Texas A&M-International University in Heartland Conference baseball action Saturday afternoon at Dustdevil Field.

Weston Baros (So., San Antonio) led off the tenth inning by reaching when he was hit by a pitch. Colin Stock (So., Klamath Falls, Ore.) moved Baros to second on a sacrifice bunt. David Vaio (Sr., San Antonio) moved Baros to third on a ground out. Reagan Moczygemba (So., Bulverde) was intentionally walked and Ricky Gonzalez (Sr., Houston) reached on an infield single to load the bases. That brought up Harrelson (So., San Antonio), who smashed his second homerun of the season.

The blast made a winner of Eduardo de Lachica (So., Sugarland), who improved to 3-0 this season. Roger Gonzalez took the loss to fall to 0-7 this season. Michael Brzezinski (Sr., Helotes) went 3-of-6 with a homerun, three RBI and two runs scored in his final game as a Rattler. Jonathon Cisneros (Jr., San Antonio) went 3-of-5 with two doubles, an RBI and run scored.

With the win St. Mary’s wrapped the 2009 season with a 36-17 overall record and 32-14 mark in Heartland Conference play. They finished third in the Heartland Conference standings.
