San Antonio – Ursula Perez and Jenna Wessels tie for 25th, helping the St. Mary’s University women’s golf team to a sixth place finish as a team at the Dallas Baptist University Classic Tuesday afternoon at The Links at Waterchase.

Perez (So., San Antonio) followed up an opening round 78 with an 84 to finish with a 162. Wessels (Jr., Katy) also shot a two-round total of 162 (78-84). Raelyn Smith of Angelo State won medalist honors with a two-round total of 141 (70-71), winning by two strokes over Katy Ward of Tarleton State University.

Alejandra Cantu (Fr., Mission) tied for 33rd with a 166 (85-81), while Amanda Anderson (Sr., San Antonio) and Marie Hulsey (Jr., El Paso) tied for 35th with identical two-round total of 167.

In the team standings, Tarleton State ran away with the title, winning by 31 strokes (294-294 – 588) over the University of Central Oklahoma (312-307 – 619). Cameron University was third with a 627, Angelo State was fourth with a 628, Dallas Baptist University placed fifth with 648 and St. Mary’s was sixth with a 650.

The Rattlers will return to action on Monday, Oct. 6, when they travel to Edmond, Okla., to play in the University of Central Oklahoma Invitational.
