San Antonio – St. Mary’s University women’s soccer player Jenae Steensma was named Heartland Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for her play against Texas A&M International University, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday.

Steensma (Jr., Weatherford) led the Rattlers to a win against the Dustdevils with a goal and an assist. The goal was her first goal as a Rattler and was the game-winner against Texas A&M-International on Sunday. For the season she has one goal and one assist.

Steensma is the second Rattlers to be recognized by the Heartland Conference this season. Brittany Sullivan (Fr., San Antonio) was named Heartland Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 22.

The Rattlers are 2-10-1 overall, 1-5 in Heartland Conference play this season. St. Mary’s will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 18, when they host Dallas Baptist University at 2 p.m.
