San Antonio – St. Mary’s University head men’s basketball coach Jim Zeleznak announced on Friday the signing of San Antonio native Keith Hartle to a national letter of intent to join the Rattlers, starting with the 2009-2010 academic year.

Hartle, a 6’3″, guard, was a standout for coach Charlie Boggess at Alamo High School for the last three years. As a junior he earned first team all-district honors after averaging 12 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds and 2 steals per game. This year he was a preseason Texas Basketball Magazine second team All-State honoree. Off the court he is an Honor Roll student, earned Academic All-District honors three times and was a member of the National Honor Society.

Hartle is the second signee for the Rattlers for next season. St. Mary’s is 1-2 this season heading into their game tonight against Paul Quinn College at Bill Greehey Arena. Tip-off is 7:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast live over the internet.
