San Antonio – St. Mary’s University baseball player Jonathon Cisneros was named Heartland Conference co-Baseball Hitter of the Week for his play last week against Angelo State University and Oklahoma Panhandle State University, it was announced by the conference office on Thursday.

Cisneros (So., San Antonio) hit .533 with three doubles, a homerun, 10 RBI and six runs scored in just four games last week. He had hits in all four games, including two three-hit games. He opened the season by going 3-of-5 with two doubles, four RBI and two runs scored against ninth-ranked Angelo State. He also went 3-of-4 with a double, homerun, five RBI and two runs scored against Oklahoma Panhandle State on Saturday.

Also earning Heartland Conference Hitter of the Week honors was Will Basom of the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. Jason Bonugli of Texas A&M International University received Heartland Conference Pitcher of the Week recognition.

St. Mary’s has won its last four games in a row and is 4-1 overall this season, 3-0 in Heartland Conference play. They will return to action on Friday when they host the University of Texas of the Permian Basin in a Heartland Conference doubleheader, starting at 2 p.m. at V.J. Keefe Memorial Stadium.
