San Antonio – St. Mary’s University men’s soccer player Brett Collier was named Heartland Conference Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for his play last week against Northeastern State University, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday.

Collier (Jr., Schertz) posted his first shutout of the season as the Rattlers defeated Northeastern State, 2-0, on Sunday. Collier made three saves, while facing a total of seven shots in the game. For the season Collier has a 1.50 goals-against average and has made 17 saves.

St. Mary’s is 2-4 this season after defeating Northeastern State last Sunday. The Rattlers will return to action on Friday, when they travel to Portales, N.M., to face Eastern New Mexico University at noon.
