San Antonio – St. Mary’s University women’s golfer Amanda Anderson was named Heartland Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for her play at the Alamo City Classic last week, it was announced by the conference office.

Anderson (Sr., San Antonio) finished second at the tournament, tying for her best finish as a Rattler. She shot a two-round total of 158, helping St. Mary’s to the team title at the event. For the fall she has two top-15 finishes and an 81.5 stroke average for the Rattlers. Anderson is the first Rattler women’s golfer to be honored by the Heartland Conference this fall. Matt Vela (So., San Antonio) was named Heartland Men’s Golfer of the Week earlier this season.

Anderson and the Rattlers finished seventh at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate on Tuesday, which was played in Duncanville, Okla. Ursula Perez (So., San Antonio) placed 16th overall to lead the Rattlers with a 156 (77-79). Jenna Wessels (Jr., Katy) was 28th with a 162, Marie Hulsey (Jr., El Paso) was 32nd with a 164, Anderson finished 36th with a 165 and Erika Patterson (Fr., San Antonio) placed 54th with a 175.

St. Mary’s will wrap up the fall season this next Monday and Tuesday when they travel to Hilo, Hawaii, to participate in the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate, hosted by the University of Hawaii-Hilo.
