San Antonio–Samantha Weber had 22 kills, while Kori McCarver had her first career triple-double, helping St. Mary’s University to a 31-29, 23-30, 30-23, 31-33, 15-8, win over the University of Texas of the Permian Basin in Heartland Conference volleyball action Saturday afternoon at the Falcon Dome.

Weber (Sr., Fort Lupton, Colo.) continued her amazing season, picking up her 22 kills against just three attack errors for a .463 attack percentage in the match. McCarver (Fr., San Antonio) had 15 kills, 29 assists and 10 digs to post the triple-double. It was the first triple-double for the Rattlers this season. Stephanie Solano (So., San Antonio) led the defense with a career-high 31 digs.

As a team, the Rattlers had 80 kills and 126 digs – a new school record for a five-game match – and hit a strong .210.

The Rattlers improved to 9-9 overall and 4-2 in Heartland Conference play with the win. UTPB fell to 12-9, 5-1. St. Mary’s will return to action on Wednesday when they travel cross-town to face rival the University of the Incarnate Word at 7 p.m.
