San Antonio – Charlena Rodez was named Heartland Conference Women’s Basketball co-Player of the Week for her play last week against Southwestern College, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday. Rodez shared the honor with Alira Carpenter of Montana State University-Billings.

She is the second Rattler to earn Heartland Conference Player of the Week honors this season. Juanita Merchant (Jr., Angleton) received the honor two weeks ago.

Rodez and the Rattlers (3-9 overall, 0-0 Heartland Conference) will return to action on Thursday when they host Oklahoma Panhandle State University (2-10 overall, 0-1 HC) in the conference opener for the Rattlers. The game will be part of a men’s/women’s doubleheader with the Rattler women taking the floor against OPSU at 5:30 p.m. and the men following at 7:30 p.m.
