ADA, Okla. – KC Lim fired a final round 69 to rally from three strokes down and take medalist honors, helping St. Mary’s University to a fourth place finish at the East Central University Oak Hills Spring Classic men’s golf tournament played on Wednesday at the Oak Hills Country Club.

Lim (Sr., San Antonio) fired three straight three-under par 69s to take the title. He trailed Mitch Boles of the University of Central Oklahoma by three strokes heading into the final round, but when Boles faltered, shooting a 74, Lim rallied to win by two strokes. Lim finished with a nine-under par 207 (69-69-69), while Boles had a 209. John Danielson of Indian Hills Community College was third with a 210.

Preston Akromis (Sr., San Antonio) shot a final round 71 to finish in a tie for 11th overall with a 216 (71-74-71). Jimmy Willingham (Jr., San Antonio) tied for 35th overall with a 221 (73-74-74), Jamie Amoretti (Sr., San Antonio) was 40th with a 223 (77-73-73) and Aaron Welch (Sr., Del Rio) placed 50th with a 226 (75-72-79).

Central Oklahoma took the team title, shooting a three-round total of 856 (280-283-293). St. Edward’s University and Indian Hills CC tied for second with totals of 861, while St. Mary’s was just seven strokes off the pace with an 863 (288-288-287).

The Rattlers will return to action on March 26 when they travel to Edmond, Okla., to play in the Central Oklahoma/Kicking Bird Classic. St. Mary’s has just two tournaments remaining before the Heartland Conference Championships, which will be played on April 16 in Dallas.
