Lim Takes First at Heartland Men’s Championships

IRVING – KC Lim rallied from a stroke back entering the final round to win medalist honors and St. Mary’s University finished second as a team at the Heartland Conference Men’s Golf Championship Tuesday afternoon at the Hackberry Creek Country Club Monday.

Lim (Sr., San Antonio) trailed Ronnie Van Woesik of Dallas Baptist University by one stroke at the pair headed to the 13th tee after a Woesik birdie on the 12th hole. But Woesik bogied the next three holes, and then had a double-bogey on the par-four 16th hole. That opened up the door for Lim, who had one birdie, three pars and two bogies over the final six hole and won going away by four strokes.
