San Antonio – St. Mary’s University men’s basketball players Jarvis Lee and Marcus Hill were each honored as All-Heartland Conference for the 2006-07 in a vote of HC coaches, it was announced by the league office recently.

Lee (Sr., G, Houston) led the Rattlers in scoring this season with 11.3 points per game. He hit on 42.9 percent of his shots from the field, including 41.0 percent from three-point range. He also made 73.5 percent of his shots from the free throw line. He reached double figures in scoring 15 times, including 20 or more points three times. He scored a career-high 31 points against the University of the Incarnate Word on Jan. 15. In that game he made 11-of-17 shots from the field. In the previous game, against Dallas Baptist, he hit on a career-high seven three-pointers and scored 23 points for the Rattlers. The first team honor marks the second time in his career he has been named All-Heartland Conference, after earning second team recognition last season.

Hill (Jr., G, Longview) earned second team honors from the Heartland Conference in his first season as a starter for the Rattlers. He played in all 28 games, making 27 starts for the Rattlers. He averaged 10.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game. Hill reached double figures in scoring 12 times, including two games with 20 or more points. He scored a career-high 22 points against Dallas Baptist on Feb. 13.

The Rattlers finished the 2006-07 season with a 16-12 record, good for third in the Heartland Conference regular season standings. They were defeated by the University of the Incarnate Word in the semifinals of the Heartland Conference Tournament.
