PENSACOLA, Fla. – St. Mary’s University women’s golfer Jessica Harbin shot a second round 78 and is tied for sixth place after the second round of the NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Championship, played at the Stonebrook Golf Club.

Harbin (Sr., Tuscola) struggled like many of the golfers as the heat index rose at the golf course. She had five bogies, a double-bogey and a birdie. No golfer broke par on the course and only two players shot par in hot weather. After two rounds she is tied for sixth overall with a two-round total of 150 (72-78).

Lindsey Bergeon of Florida Southern College and Daniela Iacobelli of Florida Technical University are tied for the lead with 146s. Heather Burgner of Florida Southern is one stroke back at 147, while Tonya Choate of Drury University is fourth with a 148 and Tracey Puckering of Grand Valley State University is fourth with a 148. Harbin is tied with four other players for sixth.

Florida Southern is first in the team standings with a 593 (297-296), while Rollins College is second with a 606 (306-300). Ferris State University is third with a 618 (314-304).

Play will continue at Stonebrook Golf Club with the second round of the four-round tournament on Thursday at 8 a.m. Harbin will tee off at 9:50 a.m. Thursday morning.
