CORPUS CHRISTI – Raul Trevino and Brandon Hevner combined to limit St. Mary’s University to just three hits as Texas A&M University-Kingsville handed the Rattlers their second straight shutout loss to start the 2007 season, 4-0, in baseball action Friday night at Whataburger Field.

Trevino went six innings, allowing just two baserunners, with Brandon Hevner tossing three scoreless innings to finish off the game for the Javelinas. Zach Kucera (Jr., Spring) allowed just two earned runs over 6 2/3 innings, but was the victim of four Rattler errors in taking the loss.

Danny Cantu (So., Laredo), Jason Anderson (Sr., Lancaster, Calif.) and David Vaio (So., San Antonio) picked the Rattler three hits on the night.

With the loss the Rattlers fell to 0-2 on the season, while the Javelinas improved to 1-2. St. Mary’s will return to action on Sunday for their home opener against Tarleton State University, starting at 1 p.m. at V.J. Keefe Field.
