San Antonio – St. Mary’s University women’s tennis coach Corwin Ritch announced on Monday the signing of Danielle Aranda to a national letter of intent to join the Rattlers, starting with the 2007-08 academic year.

Aranda, a 5’4″ native of San Antonio, comes to St. Mary’s after four strong years playing for coach John Strahl at Winston Churchill High School. She was a two-time all-district honoree and helped CHS to four district championships, three regional appearances and one state tournament appearance. She was also named Outstanding Student in Athletics.

Aranda is the first signee for the Rattler tennis team, who lost just one player from the 2006-07 team that advanced to the Heartland Conference Tournament semifinals.
