Three Rattler athletes were named Player Of The Week in their respective sports this week by the Heartland Conference.
Billy White, a senior wing from Gonzalez, Texas, led the Rattlers to two victories this week – a 84-57 win over Rockhurst and a 80-56 win over St. Edward’s. White averaged 16.5 points over the two games.
Liz Beyer, a senior catcher from San Antonio, earned Hitter-Of-The-Week honors from the Heartland Conference. She led the Lady Rattlers to a 4-1 record over the week. She hit .500 with five runs scored, five RBIs a double and two home runs.
Freshman pitcher Malissa Magee was named Heartland Conference Pitcher of the Week. She went 3-0 with a 0.42 ERA. Included in her wins was a one-hit shut out of Tarleton State. On the week, she struck out 14 batters and scattered 7 hits over 16 2/3 innings.
