Simmons, Brown Named Conference Players Of The Week

Senior outfielder Kirstin Simmons, from Austin, and freshman pitcher Brittany Brown, from Azle, Tex., have been named Heartland Conference Hitter and Pitcher of the Week respectively for the week of April 4-10.
Simmons went 5-for-12 in six games on the week, scoring five runs, driving in 7 runs and hitting four home runs.
Brown made four appearances for the Rattlers, going 2-0 with a save and 38 strikeouts in 21 innings pitched and a 0.67 ERA. Included in her week was a 13-strikeout effort against Texas Woman’s University.
