The 2004 Latina Letters conference, which opens Thursday, July 15, will focus on the Latina Literature and Identity Theme: “Reporting Our Present, Shaping Our Future: The Representation of Latinas in Contemporary Media and Literature.” Co-presented by Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center and St. Mary’s University, presenters will include Ana Castillo, novelist; Maria Hinojosa, CNN correspondent; Alicia Kozameh, novelist; Carmen Tafolla, poet; Maria Martin, executive producer; Rosemary Catacalos, poet; and other notable journalists, filmmakers, scholars, writers, performers and artists.
