The Bexar County Commissioners Court has appointed St. Mary’s University President Charles L. Cotrell to serve on the VIA Metropolitan Transit Board of Trustees.
Cotrell’s term on the public transportation board lasts until Dec. 31, 2005. He replaces Thomas Brady, who represented the county on the board for four years until his final term expired at the end of 2003.
Besides has served on several boards and councils, including United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County, the Mexican-American Unity Council and the Independent Colleges and Universities of Texas Governing Board.
VIA, a publicly funded transit authority, manages the bus system in San Antonio.
