The Rev. Terry P. Weik, S.M., has been appointed director of
University Ministry at
St. Mary’s University, the Rev. Bernard J. Lee, S.M., Th.D., assistant
chancellor, announced March 6.

Weik was interim director of Campus Ministry, now designated as
University Ministry
to reflect a larger ministry to the entire University community.

Weik is originally from the Philadelphia, Pa., area, where he grew
up and attended Catholic schools. He studied at the Philadelphia
Archdiocesan seminary (Philadelphia Theological Seminary of Saint Charles
Borromeo) and was ordained in 1980. He earned a bachelor’s degree in 1976,
double majoring in philosophy and English literature, and received a master
of divinity degree in 1980.

After leaving the service of the Philadelphia Archdiocese in 1988,
Weik pursued religious life with the Society of Mary (the Marianists), the
Catholic teaching order that founded St. Mary’s in San Antonio in 1852. His
ministerial experience includes parish ministry, youth ministry, high
school teaching, retreats and campus ministry.
