The St. Mary’s men’s golf team was the runaway winner of the CDB Construction, Inc./St. Andrews Invitational played March 17-18 at the Club at Longleaf in Pinehurst, N.C. The Rattlers combined a first-round 291 and second-round 292 to finish at 15-over 583, 44 strokes better than the host team, St. Andrew’s Presbyterian College. The Unveristy of Charleston and Barton College “B” squad finished third. The Rattlers swept the top individual honors, finishing one-two-three. In all, six Rattlers fnished in the top ten. Ryan Villareal won individual honors at two-over, followed by Braden Graham (2nd, +3), Saare Adams (3rd, +4), Luke Antonellie and Greg McAuley (5th, +6) and Robert Myers (T9th, +11). Adams led after the first day, but fell back to third as Villareal, tied for third with Graham and St. Andrew’s Graham Bell after day one, surged into the lead after the final round.
