Nick Hankins scored an unassisted goal in the 78th minute to give the St. Mary’s men’s soccer team a 2-1 win over cross-town rival, and No. 3-ranked, Incarnate Word on Tuesday at St. Mary’s.

Forest Long scored the first goal for the Rattlers (3-5-2) after 10 minutes when he intercepted a pass from the UIW goal keeper and found the net unassisted.

Incarnate Word (8-1-1) showed why it came into the game undefeated and ranked No. 3 nationally when Ohad Ron scored a goal in the 23rd minute on the assist by Lubomir Bogdanov.

But Hankins managed to get by the UIW keeper and tap the ball home late in the game to give the Rattlers their third win in a row.
