San Antonio – The St. Mary’s University women’s soccer team will host the 5th Annual Rattler Run 5K on Saturday.

The event, which helps raise money for the 100 Club in addition to supporting the Lady Rattlers’ soccer program, will be held on the St. Mary’s campus.

Over the past two years, nearly 600 runners have signed up for the event, raising nearly $4,000 for the 100 Club, a non-profit organization that supports the families of fallen police officers and firefighters.

“It was a way for the players to give back to the heroes of San Antonio,” St. Mary’s women’s soccer coach Corwyn Ritch said. “The team chose to support the 100 Club because of who and what they stood for in their support of the San Antonio Police Department and San Antonio Fire Department.”

It’s not to late to register for the event, which will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday at V.J. Keefe Memorial Stadium.
